Admissions Process
We are delighted that you are considering a place for your son or daughter. The first step in to your Horris Hill journey is to visit our wonderful school to see everything we have to offer. We have a number of events, which can be viewed here, throughout the year or can arrange a personal tour at a time convenient to your family.
Horris Hill School welcomes children from two years of age.
Our Nursery
Our Nursery, for girls and boys from two years, opened in 2022 and has no entry criteria. Parents can sign up for morning, afternoon or full day sessions. Our Nursery is open 50 weeks a year - perfect for busy working families. Registration can be made without assessment.
Reception to Year 8
Horris Hill School offer day places for children from Reception (age 4) to Year 8. Boarders can join from years 3 to 8. Many children start with us in the Early Years and continue with us through the school. Some children continue through the school as day pupils, whilst others will transition to a boarding place in the later years.
Entry to the school can be at the start of any of the three terms in the academic year.
After visiting us, and meeting with the Headmaster or Head of Lower School, we would encourage you to register your child for a place at the school. We are a selective school and the process for assessing ability and suitability varies on the year group your child is likely to enter. All registered children are invited to Horris Hill School for a Familiarisation Day, or morning for younger children.
During the Familiarisation Day, your child will join classes and activities and will be well looked after by two children of a similar age to give them a taste of a day in the life of a Horris Hill pupil. We want to make sure that your child will thrive here. Younger children will attend for a shorter period and will be supported by our excellent Lower School teachers.
An offer of a place will be made once we have met your child and subject to them successfully meeting the assessment criteria for entry. Parents are asked to accept an offered place by returning a deposit and relevant entry forms.
