Enrichment

Located on the Hampshire-Berkshire border, Horris Hill School is dedicated to providing excellence in independent education, offering a unique and well-rounded educational experience that goes far beyond the classroom.

At Horris Hill, we believe that a truly exceptional education is one that nurtures the development of children in all areas of life. Our comprehensive enrichment programme is integral to this, giving children the opportunity to develop their knowledge, skills, and confidence through a wide range of experiences and activities. This programme, designed to complement their academic learning, ensures that our students not only excel in their studies but also grow as individuals, well-equipped for the future.

Our enrichment opportunities include educational trips, outdoor learning, Chapel services, and our Co-Curricular programme, which spans a broad range of interests from sport to the arts. The school also hosts exstensive facilities, including a nine-hole golf course, an astroturf multi-use games area, a sports hall with cricket nets, an outdoor pool, and 65 acres of grounds, complete with woodlands and games pitches. These spaces provide many opportunities for our pupils to stay active, develop teamwork, and enjoy the outdoors, while also nurturing their personal growth. At Horris Hill, we take pride in helping our children discover their personal flair and unique talents, guiding them to become fully-rounded individuals who are confident in themselves and their abilities.

For our boarders, the enrichment programme offers an especially busy, fun, and fulfilling lifestyle, ensuring they have every opportunity to explore new interests, build lasting friendships, and develop the confidence they need to thrive.

At Horris Hill, enrichment is central to our vision of education, making every child’s experience truly unique.

Co-Curricular Programme

Outside of the curriculum, we offer an extensive co-curricular programme for children to enjoy.  School life is enriched with a variety of opportunities for the children to try out new activities, to discover and develop their own individual abilities, talents and flair. Your child’s imagination and potential will certainly be stretched!

Activities are designed for children to try out new activities, to discover and develop their own individual abilities and talents.

Fundamental DT Club

We are very fortunate to have 65 acres of beautiful countryside, including extensive playing fields and woodland, providing exciting opportunities to the children.

Each day, children "sign up" by choosing their favourite activity for that afternoon.  A full list of our current activity offering can be acquired from our admissions team.

Chapel

Christian values underpin everything we do. Pupils are encouraged to respect one another and to gain a strong sense of personal worth. We take pride in teaching our pupils good manners, kindness and good behaviour.

Weekly Chapel services are a vital part of life at Horris Hill, where the whole school comes together for services that foster a sense of community, togetherness, and the family atmosphere we are known for. These shared moments create bonds that extend beyond the classroom and help instil values of kindness, respect, and reflection.

On Saturdays, we have a service after academic lessons and before lunch. Parents are invited to join us for services taken by a guest speaker, usually from a Senior Feeder School, followed by a delicious lunch in our Library.

The Chapel is also used for annual events such as Harvest Festival, Remembrance services, and our Christmas Carol Service.
