Upper School Transition (Y3-Y4)
Upper School Transition is focused on the journey made by the children from the Lower School to the Upper School. The children have lunch with the Lower School, but spend break time out with the Upper School. They have their classes in the main school building, within the Upper School Transition corridor (which also includes a Year 3 and 4 Common Room). Each afternoon, the children in Upper School Transition take part in Games, alongside the Upper School.
Each class has their own class teacher. However, subject specialists visit the children for Music, PE, French and Art. They also use the laboratory for Science lessons.
For Upper School Transition students, Saturday School enrichment is available on Saturday mornings. These sessions are built around aspects such as life skills, public speaking, entrepreneurship and the school’s Kitchen Garden.
The end of the school day offers various options for parents:
- Option 1 – Children can be collected at 4.30pm, after Games, to go straight home.
- Option 2 – Children stay for activities and can be collected at 5.20pm.
- Option 3 – Children can have Supper at school and be collected at 6.00pm.
- Option 4 – Some children in Upper School Transition are boarders and therefore join up with their boarding house after supper.
In Upper School Transition, we aim to promote a love of learning within our children, which will set them up for life!
